Personal Project
So the concept for this creative was to communicate in a post-modern fashion, the rape culture in India. Rape in India is very common, so i felt the need to communicate a message in a type-expressive format.
I took the popular nursery rhyme 'Georgie Porgie' and changed the words to fit the concept. The adapted version was:
'Georgie Porgie, Puddin' and Pie,
raped the girls and made them cry,
When the courts came out to play
Georgie Porgie got away'
All type was formatted into Hindu to relate to India and was placed with an expressive intention. The main headline reads 'Satyameva Jayate' which is the national motto of India, translated; it means 'Truth Alone Triumphs' which is hypocritical due to justice systems constantly letting rapist escape without conviction.
The image is off one of the recent rape cases in India where 3 girls were found hanged after being hanged, which gained national attention.
