Studio Breif 4 - Idea Mock up

Development

After deciding what ideas i liked i mocked a few...

This design would be my image only design. Essentially what I'm trying to say here is that as Barbie represents everything to do with self image and the perfect look. According to society barbie is now a common thing in every little girls life, which they grow up with, playing with barbies and being brainwashed into thinking that this is what they have to look like in order to be considered perfect. So i took Barbie as a iconic figure and made her a look depressed. Also i made look like she had been crying to show not everything is what it seems. I wanted to communicate in my message that everything isn't perfect, even though someone might look perfect to you they also have issues with their image. The overall massage is that everyone has issues with how they look and the pressure put on by society to look "perfect". The target audience is mainly all ages as it isn't targeting people who undergo cosmetic surgery

This idea was my type only poster design. So the idea here was from a distance the viewer would see the word "let beauty fade" and once they saw this at a distance they would think, "why would someone be crucial of beauty and telling me what to think about beauty?" essentially "let beauty fade" would be a representation of what society would say. Society would have everybody change into their perfect image, so it would show the grip society has on this issue about body image. However one you get close up, you would start to see other words. These words would be "Don't" and "Your" so the whole type would ready "Don't let your beauty fade" the faded type would be the part of society who are against the oppression of women, who accept people the way they are and refuse to be judgemental. As a whole the message communicates that society's influential grip is so strong but in the under layer there are people who don't judge and are essentially there to help.

Close up image of the faded type.

This is my Image and type poster. This idea was to show how far cosmetic surgery is advancing. So essentially i want to shock people into seeing how ridiculous people are going for that "perfect face" . So i designed a face mask and displayed it on a display case with a for sale sign to show it is buy able. The tag line reads "Buy Society's perfect face" This is to communicate that the advance in cosmetic surgery is due to society's pressure from industry like fashion, modals and photoshopped images. So why not just go out and buy the perfect face instead of have the odd bit done.

So at the moment these are my ideas, I will be showing them to Simon on Fridays crit for some feedback. At the moment I'm not 100% sure these express my message clearly as i think some of them are quite vague and not to the point.
