Studio brief 2 - Crit feedback

So in the crit today, we as a group discussed our collections ideas and how we could go about collecting research for our topic area. The group liked my vintage photographs collection which I was discussing. The group gave me suggestions and feedback on some alternative routes I could look into in relation to photographs. A lot of the group suggested looking into "photographs that go wrong", for example, people who don't make it in time for the timer shop, so they would be half in the frame. This does in fact relate to how photos must of been taken back in the day when there wasn't much technology in cameras around. Others suggested going back to the places in the photos and retaking the photos and comparing them from a modern perspective. However this idea would be impossible due to not knowing the location of the photos and also the time frame.

All the feedback was great to hear and gave me a lot to think about. However i feel like the suggestions would take away from why i choose this collection in the first place. I wanted to find out the stories of the people in the photos. Maybe i have to adapt my ideas some how to find a solution that can suit my idea, which would allow me to productively hit all the criteria of the brief without making it to complicated for myself.
