Studio Brief 3 - Research

First i researched into magazines, leaflets and postcards to get the feel of what all these mediums are designed like and what styles they portrayed, whether it be, modern, simplistic or contemporary designs.

Magazine design. Good use of the double page spread, very visual and great breakup of colour, good to break up different sections of information with almost like a hierarchy.. Looks like a 4 column layout

Leaflet design. Excellent use of colour, work well together, in order to point out the images and important information. The text is very small which allow the leaflet to open up and give the impression of a more spacious design.

Another leaflet design. Great modern design. Using illustrations gives of a less serious vibe but a more friendly approach which is something i want to capture with my layout design with stamps. This design is very small and has only a 1 column layout.

Magazine layout. Very busy with a lot of information being displayed. 3 column layout has been used which hasn't worked out as well. personally a 2 column layout would of been more beneficial to spread the info out more. This design is dated and overpowering to the eye and user.

Great layout! Very visual with the overlarge type. Very simple layout, straight to the point with no distraction of colour. This is something that i would like the inspire to. Also the use of having big columns makes the layout seem like a book almost, but giving the design more empty space to contrast the busy type going on, on the previous page.

Contrast of colour is very beautiful. very elegant, clean and modern looking. Layout of 2 column looks similar to a book with the base line shift.

The feature that sticks out with this design is the orange column. This is great feature i could use to emphasise and make certain bits of information more visual to the audience. As this would automatically draw in the users attention.

Great use of colours. The arrow on the right is a very important feature i feel. The arrow will serve as a focus point that will draw in attention and direct the user onto the information from there. It's a great feature and also it help the text get some limelight away from the heaviness of the opposite opposite page.

Simplistic design, a lot of white space. Big margins to emphasis space and is very easy on the eye due to only being 2 colours.
