Studio Brief 1 - Leaflet Breakdown Research

Every leaflet has a different purpose for different companies and this is what my research will cover. I'll be exploring whether there is a certain trend for a certain leaflet with a certain fold? Is it all mixed and what kind of stock and colours are used and are they functional for the chosen production method.

Purpose -  The purpose of the Thorpe park leaflet is to attract potential visitors to the theme park.
Stock - Very thin stock has been used for the Domino's leaflet, this is because in the long run it will save money through not having to buy more expensive and thicker stock and also the thin stock allows the leaflet to be stored and slipped through any letter box, bag, pocket or space.
Fold- 4 Panel accordion fold.  The 4 fold options allows for sectioning of the content which avoids the look of overpowering text.
Colour - A lot of colours to attract and visually appeal to It's customers, expressing that this is the colourful, fun, exciting experience you will get at Thorpe Park.
Successful? - Expresses the fun nature of what a theme park is.
Purpose -  The purpose of the leaflet is to showcase the selection of deals and food that the Co-operative offers.
Stock - Again thin stock seems to be the running theme for most leaflet, due to their reputation of being a low cost method of reaching out to a large demographic at a small cost.
Fold- 4 Page fold, making the leaflet look more like a book of some kind, demonstrating a more sophisticated leaflet then your bog standard 4 panel accordion fold. It also allows you have large feature image to maximise greater appeal.
Colour - Again, colourful leaflet. A lot of branding colour in the leaflet. Avoiding a boring and dull leaflet when the best way to attract customers is to appeal to their emotions of hunger and want.
Successful? - Yes, because of the visual nature of the food on the front cover, enticing and grabbing the users to want to see more delicious food options. Once sucked in then the marketing team will bombard the user into thinking that they are getting a bargain with great deals.
Purpose -  The purpose of the Domino's leaflet is to promote their food and delivery service in a cost efficient but high quantity way.
Stock - Very thin stock has been used for the Domino's leaflet, this is because in the long run it will save money through not having to buy more expensive and thicker stock and also the thin stock allows the leaflet to be stored and slipped through any letter box, bag, pocket or space.
Fold- 4 Panel accordion fold?. A popular option among fast food restaurants. This is mainly because it allows enough room across the 4 panel without going over an A4 piece of paper.
Colour - Yes. The leaflet is extremely bright and colourful using a lot of red and blue to inform Domino's branding but to also trigger associations like hungry and want. The red will also be very alerting and will visually stand out amongst any other leaflet near by battling for the customers eyes. However, this amount of colour my effect cost of print. However, if the printing was done be litho then the cost plus the bulk buying would limit the cost.
Successful? - Yes for it's purpose of high production rate at low production cost.
