I felt that brief two was my most
successful brief out of the whole module. My logo ended being brought by
Hardshell Labs and currently being used on their website and social media
pages. I also connected with the CEO’s within Linkedin to maintain a connection
and a chance of future work with them. It also allows me to develop the PPP
side of the course at a greater level. Overall it gave me great confidence as a
designer and filled me with a greater appreciation of client feedback and brand
guidelines because once they brought my logo they then adapted it slightly and
ruined the overall balance and aesthetic of it…oh well!
Now that the bragging is over, the brief
It’s self I loved in it’s entirety. Live briefs are my all time favourites to
work on as I become more determined to work harder. It’s a chance to test your
self and develop as a designer. I find that I learn more from live briefs then
any brief that aren’t so and that’s because you’re talking to a real client
whom most times won’t sugarcoat or beat around the bush when saying what they
want.
The only downfall of the brief was similar
to brief 1, the time limit. Again we only had limit time to complete the brief
and because of this It was hard to communicate with the client within the time
frame. I could of needed feedback at the early first stage of the brief but
once he didn’t reply for a number of days I had to move on and start the idea
stage without any feedback from the company itself and that was the same
problem with the time zone.
Overall, In terms of improvement when
looking back over the brief, I doubted my abilities a lot once I first knew the
brief was about designing logos. Logos aren’t my strong point, so I doubted my
self before even attempting to read the brief. This mentality obviously was
only in my head as I did manage to put off a successful logo, so next time it’s
best to not be so critical so early on.
