Studio Brief 2 - Study Task 2

In today's session, we looked at different books and more in depth about their paper stock, binding method and overall purpose. With the session ended we was told to chose one book using the fold method and to create that book again and to explain how to make that book.

I decided to chose the Origami book method. It's my favourite folding method, which can be easily made by anyone and you can create a full book with a fully functional book jacket. You can create this book using glue but to stick with pure Origami, I decided not to use glue. I decided to write in the pages instead of designing them online and then printing. I chose this direction due to the nature of the book. Origami books and Origami in general aren't meant for digital use, so being digitally printed would not suit the style of the book.

It was interesting how you can create a fully functional book (to some extend) with only one a4 sheet of paper. However the book is not very strong without any support from glue or any kind of binding method.

Below are some images of the book and the inside instructions.

As you can see, the pages with the jacket. The size i made my book, it had around 10 double page spreads.
