I was giving the responsibility to create the home page of the website for our exhibition. The website will be the hub of the whole exhibition, where anyone can come and find anything they will possible need to know in preparation for the exhibition.
My idea for the website was to follow the design and style of the poster to keep with brand consistency, to make the home page of the website as interactive and engaging as soon as the user hits the page, I deiced to fill the home page with a full size featured image of what the inside of the exhibition will look like.
I've stuck with the same 'FortyFive' design used on the posters, but I've added lines, which are rotated at 45 degrees to direct your eye to the navigation bar, also it's a nice play on our concept. The navigation bar will cover the main areas. At the bottom of the website will be a small amount of text, just to quickly sum up the exhibition. There isn't no need for a lot of information as the home page is designed to grab the users attention and direct them onto other parts of the website.
Overall the website is very modern, clean and sticks very well to our brand in terms of colour, layout and style. The only probably with the website is money and time. Creating a website from scratch takes a lot of time and effort along with a lot of money. However the cheapest way to create a website will be to user a free website building platform like wordpress. The downside to this idea will be the flexibility in the design. We would have to use a wordpress template and their design structure unless we use wordpress.org, but this will create more time and costing more money.
