Studio Brief 3 - Poster ideas

I was giving the wonderful task of coming up with the posters for the exhibition. Our style was contemporary and modern. By this stage we still didn't managed to come up with a colour scheme for our brand so i had to take this on board and use colours that would compliment and give of a contemporary feel. I wanted to create a poster, which represented our concept of 45 degrees but also came across simple and aesthetically pleasing to the user.

One of the biggest aspects I wanted to achieve was to create a design, which could be used globally across all of the even collateral. So hopefully the design will be simple and effective enough to be used on collateral such as, invitations, wristbands, programme, website etc.

Below are some ideas I came up with.

This was the final design chosen by the group. This was also my favourite out of the lot. This design communicates all that we wanted to achieve. From the start i knew that orange, black and white were the perfect colour choice for our brand. They're contemporary, modern and are extremely complimentary. The 'Forty five' is designed to tell the user the title of the exhibition and also to direct their eyes to the bottom, towards the important information.

Layout wise is very minimal, which allows for a lot of negative space. Having a lot of space gives of a sense of a modern touch, which allows the user to breathe and take in the poster without being over powered by a vast amount of pointless information. I limited the information to as little as possible without the user walking away feeling that they didn't get enough information but just the right amount to allow for maximum awareness.

After this poster the group decided we needed another poster, an non-informational poster, which would advertise our branding (logo) that would stand out and grab the attention of passers by.

So Megan created these sets of poster below. It clearly demonstrates attractiveness and would 100% stand out from it's surroundings. Each poster will have one half of the logo situated on it. Once the posters are used a set they will be seen as 45. Having each number on one poster each allows the posters to be bigger and more impactful then having 45 on only one poster.
