Studio Brief 3 - Ideas for a layout

Taking the effective decision to abandon my previous layout for my publication due to the restriction it restricted me to and also the heavily impacted production cost. I wanted to create a layout that would be fluid in positioning of my content and will allow me to be more flexible with different bind methods and stock. In general to create an effect publication which represents a conceptual decision based on the production needs and the target audience.

Below are some of the most effective idea i came up with.

Main feature image taking up 80% of the page for visual impact and to keep the users attention within your book. Two smaller images could be zoomed in versions of the larger image or could be different images. The text on the other side could be replace by more images if i need the layout to be more flexible or if i don't necessarily need text within the page.
Professional looking layout. Stripped back by it's minimal aesthetics. In theory the publication is main evolved around images. So the main purpose is to showcase 4 images at a time in a structured format, no distractions or interference. If i wanted to be more fluid then i could replace one image for text or as the margins are a lot larger, text could be rotated in a contemporary fashion and be positioned next the image.
Similar style to the abandoned layout but stripped back by removing the zooming feature, which in return opens up more white space to play around with. Allows the user to easy flow from left to right.
This layout choice is more modern. Rotating the images through the middle gives off a contemporary feel. The image could be suited for longer images that i don't wish to crop or it could communicate a deeper meaning or could even be used to navigate the users eye from top to bottom, leading them onto important information.

Once i had came up with these ideas a thought came into my head. The thought was why can't I use multiple layouts to achieve a fluid system for each page? Letting the images themselves determine how the page is designed. The image could tell it's own story and history, so it'll be a good way to create a layout that showcases the history or characteristics of the page. Connecting and engaging the audience on a personal and historical level.
