To gather a better understanding of how I can use Donald Trump’s views and opinions I researched into a few games that mocked Donald Trump views and appearance to be the basis for the game.
The first game is a remake of the popular game 'flappy bird' and uses Donal Trump’s face instead of the bird. The satirical take on the parody version of the game subtly mocks Trump with the environment of the game furthering the games agenda of mocking Donald Trumps views. In replace of the normal obstacles that Trump has to fly through, stone walls with the implementation of the Mexican flag is used to linked back to Trumps view on Mexicans and building a wall on the border. The political agenda of the game also comes through by implementing other components of Trump such as Hillary Clinton. When you choose to be Hillary in the game the environment isn't the same as at certain times signs float past with the saying 'vote for Hillary' which suggests that the game wants it's users to vote for her over Trump and they achieve this by subtly and subconsciously embedding these messages within the game's design.
Overall this game demonstrates that even though the game is simply set out there is still a strong overall agenda being implemented within the game to influence the users without realising by enticing them in by using something as fun as a game and subliminally planting their views on them in return.
The next game clearly shows how you can emphasise appearances to mock and insult Trump. Donald Trump is more famously known for his hair then his views on politics. A lot of people poke fun at Trumps choice of hair do and because of how ridiculous it looks people have used his hair to their advantage by mocking and insulting him for it. It's a great way to distract people from his politics and only attack him for his apperance, this way people will remember Trump for his apperance and not for his policies turning him into a caricature that people will remember.
The game below draws attention to Trumps hair from the onset. It's been made bigger with the hair also being included for the love hearts in the top left corner. To mock Trump for his wealth and political views on Immigrants the game has embedded a level where Trump has to fight immigrants/Mexicans by throwing money at them. The target audience for this game can be for people who support Trump but can also be for people who don't. It would attract Trump supporters because they would agree with his views about immigration/Mexicans, therefore dislike them as much as he does. The Trumps supporters would essentially let their hatred out on Mexicans without physically doing it. On the other hand people who don't like Trump would be attracted to the game because it's evident that it's a game designed to mock and insult him in a satirical manner, therefore enjoying the game to experience Trump as a laughing stock.
Lastly, this game is predominant based around Trumps view around building a wall around Mexico. Instead of creating a parody mocking a number of his policies this game solely focusses on only one. In the game the user has to stack and balance bricks on top of each other to build the wall without it falling down. Apart from the wall the game subtly fires insults at Trump by mocking him through the use of words placed around the game. In the game below you can see two examples of this. The first 'We shall over comb' pokes fun at Trump's hair and the second "It's gonna be huuuuuge also pokes fun at the way Trump speaks. Both of these choice of words subconsciously strips Trump of any professionalism and again creates a mockery out of him which will lead people to see him as a laughing stock instead of a serious presidential candidate.
Overall all of these games demonstrates many ways you can create political satire to mock and insult Trump for either his views or apperance. With these types of games they all have a good amount of time in the limelight until the new president election is over. The game then instantly becomes irrelevance as users move onto other games that are contemporary and are based on current issue. But that’s the beauty about 8 bit games. Political games have a small self life but typically they are very simple and easy to make and that makes them into an effective propaganda tool in the digital age and social media. Poster might be effective in terms of cost efficiency but a game is more likely to become viral and reach more people, unlike the posters the game can subtly embed many political agendas within it to influence voters.
