Studio Brief 2 - Proposed Area Of Research

In todays session we proposed an area of research for brief 2. It was a chance for me to see what other people thought of the topic area I was going to focus on and to receive their feedback and advice on where I can take it.

We were given a sheet to fill out that asked for our area of research and questions we wanted to ask people about the topic of interest.

My topic of interest was:

The downfall of Donald Trump

Questions I asked:

1. Is it a good enough topic?

2. What work can I product for it apart from a poster series?

3. Should I produce Donald Trump in the way as I did for the COP poster last year? But expand more?

4. Should I expose his policies or him as a person.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

At this stage I had an idea in my head of what I wanted to create. To essentially create propaganda material to discourage voters and to mock Donald Trump appearance and views. There are currently a lot of parody and information out there making the possibilities endless with how I could go about mocking him.

Some of the feedback I got:

1. Brilliant and relevant topic.
2. Full propaganda campaign? or a crush Trump app?
3. COP campaign is fantastic, maybe add a bit more satire?
4. Both, the policies create the figure.

1.Yes! relevant and lot's of opinions worldwide.
2. Perhaps marking leaflets about Trump, A history, his goals. A website/app/digital campaign. TV advert, banners?
3.Yes! they are really successful expand into further campaigns could make characters into figures and animate?
4. Policies mostly but then bring in why he might feel that.

What I took from this feedback session

The feedback I got was hugely helpful in terms of how I could take the issue about Donald Trump further. Most people offered suggestions into what I could produce in a satire format to mock Donald Trump. Also I got a lot of positive feedback about the propaganda poster I produced last year for COP as they both are targeting political leaders and producing propaganda material to sabotage and disrupt potential voters.
