Studio Brief 1 - Clockwork Orange - Feedback

Today I decided I need to receive some input with the work I was currently working on for Clockwork Orange. So far I've been working within an isometric grid to create a city with the characters from clockwork orange within. The idea was to build the city and embed the crime scenes or important events that happen within the book into he city. The isometric grid would strengthen my concept by giving a style of confinement and analog.

In the current stage of my process (Similar to how it looks below) I wanted to know if it looks visually successful and if the isometric grid was working out. I was a bit uneasy about my level of skill, it's difficult to produce a city when you've never done it before with the added pressure of achieving it within an isometric grid.

It wasn't necessarily about the concept but about the arrangement and visuals side of the book cover. I didn't want to get to a stage where I've worked on it for hours and hours and then realise it isn't going to work. So this feedback would allow me to know whether or not I should continue or see other potential ideas or avenues I could go down.

Feedback:

The feedback was fairly mixed, A lot of people were unsure of how it would look once finished or how it would be set out on the page because the scale of the whole city would have to be very large to fit all the important events onto the page. A lot of people suggested that it may become to difficult to do it, especially with little to no experience in working inside of a grid system and creating illustrations from it. Lo suggested that I should defiantly stick with the isometric lettering. She thought that it related to the title of the book, the analog aspect of it. To be frank I could tell that a lot of people were unsure of my idea, I could tell that even though they were to polite to actually tell me.

I did like Lo's suggestion as it does relate to the book and I can also still use the letters to play on this theme of free will. The feedback only confirmed my worries of the idea not working out but I feel like I can still keep the isometric letters, strip back the design and really start working on a clear message and direction.
