Studio Brief 1 - D&AD Crimewatch - 360 footage./App

The app is the interface the Crimewatch user will see. It was crucial when filming the promotional video that the user and also the D&AD judges understood how the app functions in a real life scenario. In order to convey my idea of embedding 360º footage within the Crimewatch reconstructions it was essential for me to show 360º footage of a crime scene. However... the biggest issue is actually the 360º video. 360º Cameras cost thousands so it was impossible to actual acquire one for the video. Therefore, I had to find an alternative method to convince the viewer that what they are seeing is being filmed on a 360º camera.

I get past this barrier I simple faked it. When film the crime scene with the camera but walked around with the camera as if the user was in control of the device. In order to fake the swiping motions, I rapidly moved the camera in different directions to make it seem that the Crimewatch viewer was swiping it themselves on the actual video. Below is an example of me faking the 360 footage.
