Studio Brief 2 - D&AD Telegraph - Poster

As the final resolution for Your Telegraph was finished me and Lo both thought the next step would be to create a series of posters not only promoting the Your Telegraph app but to promote the theme and concept that the app was embedded within. What we wanted to showcase was the customisable aspect of the app and combine that within the theme of cards. The personal and customisable feature is the unique selling point, it's the strongest feature of our app. 

We came up with the tagline "It's your move" and "It's your hand". Both of these taglines are references to the theme of cards. The sayings are well known to people who play and even don't play cards or go to a casinos. Below is an explanation of one the poster that I created as the other poster Lo created.

Above poster - This posters showcases the theme of a stack of cards set out as if someone was playing a game of cards like poker or blackjack. The tagline "It's your hand" suggest the personal aspect of Your Telegraph, while still playing on the theme of cards. The cards in the poster are demonstrate a selection of the categories on offer while visually explaining that its up to the user to pick and choose what cards they want to use and what cards they don't. 

The aesthetics of the poster demonstrate a modern and sophisticated approach making sure the poster appeals to its intended users and brand ethos. The use of a white to grey gradient allows the card design to pop and catch the eye of anyone walking past. Letting the visual do the talking so there comes a need for less information on the page while allows for more of an modern and visually clean aesthetic.

Overall, the poster is extremely effective and clearly demonstrates the clear connection between concept and theme. The user would understand the concept a lot more effectively because of the simple way it's been demonstrated. 

This is the poster Lo created. The tagline "It's your move" expresses to the users that its up to them to decided what widgets of the app they want to add. Unlike the previous poster, this poster can demonstrate how to use the drag and drop feature within the app. It's a very strong concept and works extremely well as a set while promoting and showing off Your Telegraph as a leading news platform.
