Continuing on from the previous blog post "Meditation' I have moved on by seeing how I can represent meditation in it's visual form. The Bauhaus art movement Is most famous for it's geometric shapes, using them in a lot of their most famous posters, portraying a modernist aesthetic. The successful design which Bauhaus has created is a feature that I can benifit my concept of meditation. One possible idea is to use the shapes within a balancing composition like the balancing stones used for meditation.
The shapes communicate a simplistic style, which is easily communicated to the audience. It's stripped back appearance gives the user a sense of calm and empowerment. It's important to demonstrate a contemporary style on the sleeve to ensure a better chance of a successful sleeve. Meditation can sometimes be viewed as an outdated practice especially when it's being represented within design. So by embedding Bauhaus practises of form follows functions then you can transform a style, completely turning it into a piece of successful contemporary art which represents it's concept in it's rawest form.
