All of the design choices have been implemented in relation to the guidelines to the brand of BBC and Crimewatch. It was important for the development of the idea is to still stick with the brand of Crimewatch because it shows a certain degree of professionalism and identity to the idea. As a live brief it's important to showcase an understanding of Crimewatch and their key principles of the brand. Understanding the guidelines would give the design a stronger concept and the judges would easily be able to envision the 360º feature within a apart of Crimewatch because it would already consist all aspects of the brand. If you change the colour scheme to much then your product wouldn't fit within the brands target audience and wouldn't fit with the range of other products that Crimewatch and the BBC has to offer. Consistency is key.
The design incorporates the Crimewatch blue as the main primary colour with the white and red as secondary colours. Red was only being used as a colour to highlight important aspects but limited it's use so the BBC ONE logo could stand out, demonstrating crimewatch is apart of the BBC. White was used for text and inforgraphics. White was the perfect contrast colour to the different shades of blue and would allow the text to be easily readable and liable to any user from any background or disab coming onto the app. The design incorporates Helvetical as it's main typeface as Helvetical/arial is used for Crimewatch.
